I am a transmedia composer.
I received my master degree in sound and reality from a German conservatory. In my work I explore and develop different types of formats. The simultaneity of individual and collaborative work processes is elementary.
After flighting to the country form the war-enthusiastic cityF. gets called into the army. Whereas actually, he had for a long time decided for himself to refuse the war. Though, holding the call-up papers in his hands, he suddenly begins to question his former strong beliefs. Something seems to drive him into service. Reason fights compulsion. The decision making process – whether F. is going to war or not – begins…
The mise-en-scéne of the one-person-play is musically completed by a one-instrument-composition. The source material of the composition is a digitally and analog alienated piano. The production is characterised by contrast: black and white set design, warm and cold in the stage light concept, the decision whether or not to go to war – so is the concept of the composition. It is based on two complementary musical motives that describe the inner conflict of the character. Rather than just accompanying the production, the music itself finds its own interpretation of the play.
